Forms
To start the charter process and reserve the catamaran "Martha R", four forms from TMM will need to be completed. These four documents are "The charter contract", "Sailing resume", "Travel arrangement form", and the "Crew Manifest". Click on the link below to go directly to the TMM forms page. Download and print the four forms using "Adobe Acrobat". Once you fill out the forms return them to:

If you want to claim the 5 or 10% discounts, you must send the forms back to me and then I will forward the forms on to TMM.
Confirm a charter
A 50% deposit of the charter rate is required to comfirm your charter dates on the "Martha R". This deposit and the 4 forms are sent back to Ecological Design and Development, 3244 Pembrook Dr., Traverse City, MI 49684. A signed contract will be sent back to you as your charter confirmation. The balance of your charter fees are due 45 days prior to your charter start date. Charter fees are payable to Ecological Design and Development in U.S. dollars with cash, check, or Travelers Checks as accepted payments.
In addition to the charter rate, upon arrival in the BVI, you will pay a BVI cruising tax, and a National Parks fee directly to TMM as discussed on the "Rates and Availability" page.
TMM will only accept cash or Travelers checks in U.S. dollars as payment.
Security Deposit
A non-refundable security deposit of $40/day covers damages to the yacht. These fees would be used to help pay the insurance deductible in case of damage to the yacht. Otherwise the charterer would be responsible for paying the whole deductible of $5000 or more if the yacht were damaged.
There is also a refundable deposit of $400 to cover stolen, lost or damaged yacht inventory, such as dinghy, dinghy motor, cushions, grill, etc.
To cancel a charter
If you cancel your charter at least 90 days in advance of your charter arrival, all but $500 will be refunded to you.
If you cancel your charter 46-89 day prior to your arrival, 50% of your charter fee will be refunded to you.
There are no refunds for charters canceled 45 days or less from your charter arrival.
Trip insurance is advisable, but it is entirely up to your charterer group. One such insurer is Travel Insured at www.travelinsured.com or by phone at 1-800-243-3174. Another web site that might help you is www.InsureMyTrip.com This site will help you get quotes from up to 16 different companies so you can compare prices and options.
